Scala announces appointment of new Client Director

Specialist legal and healthcare marketing communications agency, Scala, has appointed Carly Cotton as its new Client Director after winning several new contracts.

Sheffield-based Scala has seen strong growth and interest in its marketing services throughout 2022/23, and this new appointment reflects its focus on client relationships with retained and new clients.

Carly says : “I am delighted to take up this new position as Client Director, and to continue to build on our strong client relationships. Exceptional client relationships underpin everything we do at Scala, and my focus will be on ensuring the highest level of service, whilst keeping up to date with new innovations in marketing communications, such as the use of artificial intelligence (AI).”

Scala’s Managing Director and Founder, Natalie Rodgers says: "The appointment of Carly Cotton as Client Director reflects our focus on building and maintaining exemplary business relationships. Carly has worked for Scala for over 7 years and has been instrumental in shaping its success over the years. Her specialist knowledge, and work with our high-profile clientele in the clinical negligence, personal injury, healthcare and legal sectors will ensure we continue to provide a first-class service.”

Scala's roster of new clientele includes STEPS Prosthetics, Kain Knight Costs Lawyers, PLG Consulting, Venters Solicitors, as well as individual Barristers and KCs, and Barristers’ Chambers throughout the UK.

Last week it was announced that Scala has been shortlisted as ‘Specialist Consultancy of the Year’ at the 2023 Chartered Institute of PR CIPR Excellence Awards for their campaign work surrounding the Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUHT) Maternity Scandal. This is hot on the heels of two other awards wins in 2022, when they won ‘SME Marketing Agency of the Year’ at the British Business Awards, and scooped a Prolific North ‘Highly Commended’ Award.

Scala continues to provide PR support and guidance to the families of those affected by the failures in maternity care and their legal teams, as they tell their stories to media outlets including BBC News, ITV News, Sky and Channel 4.

Natalie Rodgers, a non-practising solicitor and Managing Director, founded Scala in 2009 and advises in some of the country’s most high-profile legal cases.
