Since 2023, Scala has supported the Society of Clinical Injury Lawyers (SCIL) to deliver its annual conference, which continues to grow in scale, impact and reputation year on year.
Hosted at Millennium Point, Birmingham for the past four years, the SCIL Conference, designed specifically for SCIL members, has evolved significantly. This year marked another milestone and saw us welcome over 200 delegates and 42 exhibitors, reflecting the event’s continued growth and authority in the sector. It’s now very much seen as a flagship event on the medico-legal calendar.
Each year, the conference brings together leading industry experts to share invaluable insight, knowledge and lived experience across clinical injury law. The programme is further strengthened by headline speakers from across medicine, media and public health, including Adam Kay, Xand van Tulleken, Dr Nighat Arif, and Dr Idrees Mughal (Dr Idz), each contributing thought-provoking perspectives and expert commentary.
Event Management
Our role in delivering the conference spans the full event lifecycle. Working closely with the SCIL Executive Committee, we help identify and confirm a suitable and effective venue. We also collaborate on selecting the date each year, carefully avoiding industry clashes to maximise attendance and engagement.
From early planning through to execution and beyond, we support the development of the conference programme, including suggesting speakers and shaping topic areas to ensure a relevant and high-quality agenda. We also liaise directly with all speakers, delegates and exhibitors, ensuring clear communication and a seamless experience for everyone involved.
In the lead-up to the event, we manage and produce all marketing and event collateral, including delegate packs, exhibitor packs, the conference programme, lanyards, holding screens, and SCIL’s conference stand. We also manage all promotional activity across SCIL’s social media channels, sharing key information on attendance, sponsorship and event updates.
On-site, we are present the evening before the conference to support exhibitor arrival and ensure the venue is fully prepared. On the day itself, we remain on hand throughout to support the smooth running of the event, alongside volunteers from the SCIL Executive, responding to queries, resolving issues, and ensuring everything operates seamlessly from start to finish.
Following the event, we circulate and collate feedback from our delegates and exhibitors, to help us shape an even bigger and better conference the following year.
It is a genuine pleasure to work alongside the SCIL Executive team, a dedicated group who make the collaboration both productive and enjoyable year after year.
