The exponential rise of social media platforms such as Twitter and YouTube, coupled with time-poor clients, has seen video become one of the most effective ways of communicating your marketing message. Forbes (2018) have reported that viewers retain
STEPS Rehabilitation
We are retained by STEPS Rehabilitation to advise them on all things marketing. We worked with them to launch their new website and ensured that it featured (prominently) a new marketing video. The purpose of the video is to showcase the incredible rehabilitation facility, their expert work and share some of their inspirational client stories.
STEPS are a specialist rehabilitation facility based in Sheffield that provides intensive rehabilitation for neurological conditions, strokes, spinal cord injuries, acquired brain injuries, orthopaedic and other complex trauma injuries. To ensure we captured the values of STEPS and communicated key marketing messages, we worked closely with not just the STEPS team, but also their clients who agreed to share their journey to recovery. We committed time, energy and enthusiasm to build relationships with those involved to make sure they were comfortable with the filming process. By building rapport and trust, we were able to get the very best out of the interviews that we conducted for the film and ensured that the individual stories were communicated well.
We collaborated with Joe from Whistle Video, and worked alongside him to create a quality video that showcased STEPS; from the building itself, to the state-of-the-art facilities, including their hydrotherapy pool and gym. We also wanted to capture the essence of the facility, which is that it is a family led, positive environment, devoted to developing human potential following life-changing injuries with the aim of rebuilding lives.
The video in full can be viewed here.

Law Firm Marketing Videos
Switalskis Solicitors
We were asked by Switalskis Solicitors to create, film and edit a marketing video that promoted their brand values and presence as a law firm in Yorkshire. We created a ‘storyline’ for the video, which saw Switalskis supporting clients at various ‘touch points’ in their life and incorporated well known Yorkshire landmarks such as Ilkley Moor and Bridgewater Place in Leeds.
The video sits on the landing page of Switalskis website and has been a huge success, it can be viewed here.
The success of this video was immediate. It launched on the 1st December 2016 and within the space of 5 weeks it had attracted 7,882 views with the homepage on the website seeing an average traffic increase of 21.49%.
Bell & Buxton Solicitors
As part of a wider marketing strategy, we were asked by Bell & Buxton Solicitors to redo their website. The purpose of the new website was to refresh and modernise their brand in what is becoming a crowded Yorkshire legal market, plus communicate new key marketing messages that we had devised that promoted their brand values and expertise.
We worked closely with the Partners to identify their key brand values, namely that they are a proud local Sheffield firm providing high-quality legal advice to business and individuals in Sheffield and the surrounding area. Significantly, as a well-established firm they are ‘trusted by generations’ for their work. Once again, we worked closely with Joe from Whistle Video, a video production company based in Sheffield to create a short video that captured all of these key marketing messages, which now sits on the firms website and can be viewed here.
Case Studies
Switalskis
As part of their wider marketing strategy, Switalskis Solicitors asked Scala to produce a video that highlighted the quality of their clinical negligence work and the difference they make in their clients, and client’s family’s lives. The video features the firm’s website as a Case Study and is also shared across social media platforms including YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. After attending several team meetings a suitable clinical negligence case was identified and Scala, working closely with Whistle Video, created a video that captured and communicated their expertise, values and strength of client relationships.
Greg sustained a brain injury four days after his birth due to hospital staff failing to notice that he was feeding properly. His very low blood sugar caused a seizure, which resulted in a severe brain injury. As a result of this, Greg suffered from very severe and uncontrolled epilepsy and a permanent neurological disability. At the age of 15, his mum contacted Switalskis Solicitors to bring a clinical negligence claim, and they were able to achieve a settlement that enables them to care for Greg for the rest of his life, with part of the settlement being used to design and build a home which is tailored specifically to support Greg.
Greg’s Story can be viewed here.
Morgan Jones Pett
Our client, Morgan Jones Pett Solicitors in Norwich, are a specialist Medical Negligence, Personal Injury and Professional Negligence law firm. We advise them on marketing strategy and implementation. We encouraged and advised them to showcase their expertise and quality of work using testimonial videos as part of their marketing strategy.
By working closely with the client, we were able to identify three cases suitable for the project and best reflected their services. We met with the individuals involved, prepared questions for them to gather as much relevant information as possible and travelled to Norwich to assist with the filming and interviewing of each testimonial. Scala was not only involved in the production of these videos but also the editing process of each testimonial to guarantee that each story was shared accurately and that key marketing messages weren’t lost in the final cut.
The videos can be viewed here and include; Leigh-Ann, who was knocked down by a car at 7-years old, leaving her with a life-changing brain injury; Natalie, who received negligent dental treatment and suffered permanent damage to her mouth; and Marc and Kim whose son sustained brain damage during birth and, suffers from cerebral palsy.
