About the Bar Pro Bono Awards
Advocate is a charity that finds free legal assistance from volunteer barristers across England and Wales. They match members of the public who need free legal help with barristers who are willing to donate their time and expertise in deserving cases to those who are unable to obtain legal aid and cannot afford to pay.
The Bar Pro Bono Awards recognise these individuals and organisations for their dedicated practice and their significant contribution to the community.
Since 1997, the Bar Pro Bono Awards have run as a prestige occasion within the legal calendar to honour the outstanding pro bono contributions of the Bar. These awards commend individuals and chambers for their exceptional dedication to providing pro bono services, widening access to justice for countless people across England and Wales.
