Scala joins the Pro Bono Expert Support scheme

Scala has taken an exciting new step for 2024 and joined the Pro Bono Expert Support scheme as specialist PR advisors to lawyers and clients involved in pro bono cases.

As part of Scala’s commitment to CSR initiatives, we will be offering PR support on pro bono cases through this scheme, jointly delivered by the National Pro Bono Centre (NPBC) and Pro Bono Connect. Cases can be brought by a wide range of pro bono and charity sector organisations, including Advocate (the specialist barrister pro bono charity) and LawWorks (the specialist solicitors pro bono charity).  

The Pro Bono Expert Support (PBES) scheme is designed to provide litigation support services for pro bono cases. These services encompass a diverse range of experts, such as those specialising in various disciplines (such as damages and quantum), forensic accountants, arbitrators, mediators, eDiscovery providers, strategic communicators, investigators, and interpreters.

Scala’s specialised PR support

Scala will be offering our specialist public relations (PR) expertise and experience for the scheme, which will include:

• Legal and litigation public relations
• Media interviews: training and on the-day support
• Broad areas: healthcare, inquests, public affairs and law change campaigns, litigation and disputes, legal costs, miscarriages of justice, crime, disability and professional regulation.

Joining the Pro Bono Expert Support scheme is a natural next step for Scala and builds on our other pro bono PR work carried out in recent years, specifically representing the Maternity Safety Alliance (MSA) and other parents affected by maternity negligence.
