STEPS Prosthetics is pleased to announce the launch of a new satellite outpatient clinic at the Manchester Institute of Health and Performance (MIHP), with services commencing in July. Operating on a fortnightly basis, the new clinic forms part of STEPS Prosthetics’ continued commitment to delivering high-quality, personalised care to amputee clients closer to home.

Located within MIHP - a world-class healthcare and performance facility operated by Nuffield Health - the clinic provides a state-of-the-art, client-focused environment. Clients will have access to clinical rooms, a physiotherapy gym, strength and conditioning facilities, advanced gait analysis, and a full suite of diagnostic and imaging services, all under one roof.

“We’re excited to bring our services to Manchester and to operate within such an outstanding facility,” said Colette Shaw, Co-Founder and Prosthetist at STEPS Prosthetics. “This new clinic enables us to better support individuals across the North West with convenient access to tailored prosthetic and physiotherapy services.”

Clients attending the Manchester clinic will receive the same expert-led, compassionate care provided at STEPS Prosthetics’ existing clinics in Sheffield and Gateshead. The service is designed to support individuals at every stage of their rehabilitation — from initial prosthetic fitting and specialist amputee physiotherapy through to long-term follow-up and adjustment.

Richard Biggs, Partner in Irwin Mitchell’s Manchester office commented,

“I’ve had the pleasure of working with STEPS Prosthetics for several years and have always been impressed by their exceptional service and dedication to patient care. I am delighted to hear that they are opening a new clinic in Manchester, which will undoubtedly benefit many more individuals in need of their expertise. This expansion is a testament to their commitment to improving lives, and I look forward to working with them.”

This expansion strengthens STEPS Prosthetics’ regional reach, helping to reduce travel barriers and ensure continuity of care across the North of England. Referrals are welcome from healthcare providers, case managers and legal professionals.

STEPS Prosthetics delivers bespoke prosthetic and orthotic solutions grounded in science, craftsmanship, and compassion. The team collaborates closely with case managers, insurers, and legal professionals to provide integrated support that promotes both physical and emotional recovery.

Appointments at the new Manchester clinic will be available from July.
