The Trial of Lucy Letby

Jurors in the trial of Lucy Letby, the nurse accused of murdering seven babies and attempting to kill 10 others at the Countess of Chester Hospital neonatal unitare expected to resume deliberations on Monday 24th July 2023.

Media Interviews 

Please be advised that the families will not be giving any media interviews or partaking in discussions with journalists at this time. Once a Jury decision has been reached, the families will consider their position further. 

We wish to remind all members of the press and media of the strict reporting restrictions that have been imposed. 

Reporting Restrictions

The following restrictions are in effect: 

Restrictions for the Babies: 

Until they reach the age of 18, no publication shall include the names, addresses, education establishments, workplaces, pictures, or any details that may lead the public to identify them as persons involved in the proceedings.

Restrictions for Parents: 

All parents who have provided statements in the proceedings shall not be identified in any publication if such identification is likely to lead members of the public to recognise them as witnesses in the case.

These restrictions shall remain in effect for the lifetime of the witnesses, including the publication of their names, addresses, education establishments, workplaces, pictures, and names of any living children, if such information may lead to the identification of the parent as a witness in the proceedings.
